I think the reason smart people often get worse results than dumb people is because dumb people don’t have an inner monologue.

There’s no voice in their head telling them they can’t, so they just go for it and often get better outcomes.

1) I am dumb

2) When the murmurs of my inner dialogue try to prevent me from doing something, I recall another voice, one would even say a confident male one saying YOU CAN JUST DO THINGS.
