Alby only stores your nostr private key in your computer's local storage, I believe. You can create a new identity in amethyst under the "accounts" settings option.

Thanks I did it! Now I need a wallet.....

nostr:npub1gcxzte5zlkncx26j68ez60fzkvtkm9e0vrwdcvsjakxf9mu9qewqlfnj5z this is how amethyst could have or integrate with a cashu token wallet: With cashu there is no need for a lightning wallet, and the cashu mint can be a lightning "zap proxy" (in place of NWC to an online lightning wallet). Profiles could indicate (with a boolean or enum) whether they prefer nuts (dm nuts) or zaps (lnaddress) for nostr clients that support nuts.

Yep, the only issue is that all cashu mints are custodial at the moment. But looks like nostr:npub12rv5lskctqxxs2c8rf2zlzc7xx3qpvzs3w4etgemauy9thegr43sf485vg is thinking about a noncustodial version.

Otherwise, yes, zaps should just use nuts and not lightning.

What is the problem with custodial mints when NWC is for custodial lightning services?

NWC is not only for custodial. You can easily use it with you own umbrel node for instance.

So can you with a cashu mint

Right now there are only three options for lnaddress (for recieving zaps) wallets that also support NWC (for sending zaps).

There are also some web clients that have integrated lightning wallets that avoids the need for NWC.

I look into mutiny wallet

Thanks!!

Here is another option for recieving zaps: npub.cash

The lnaddress is your npub01001....00@npub.cash

Your zaps show up in the cashu wallet on npub.cash and you can transfer them into a lightning wallet or zap with it by copying an invoice into the cashu wallet's lightning payment function.
