It’s called a NIP-05 verification. You can either do it on your own website if you want or use a service like nostrplebs.com. It provides a thin layer of protection against impersonation for most accounts. For the more famous people, if they self-host their verification, it’s a good check against impersonation. For example jack’s NIP-05 is hosted on cash.app. A fake jack account wouldn’t be able to do that
