Cambridge comes from Cambria, the Latin version of Cymru, which is what the Welsh call themselves.

Welsh comes from the English word Wealas, which comes from a proto-Germanic word basically meaning “not us”.

The earliest Arthurian legends are Cymru stories of a great King who fought against Anglo-Saxon invaders.

I've watched a lot of history stuff from that area and had never heard the Welsh part... Where did you learn it?

I had a weird desire to study the Welsh. So I started with searching YouTube for someone with a speaking voice that’s tolerable. 🤓
