Art history would be cool. In terms of OC, photos is the only way I can participate.

I think this is true for lots of people here. Definitely the way to go! Thank you.

More art history!!!! Love it.

nostr:npub17nd4yu9anyd3004pumgrtazaacujjxwzj36thtqsxskjy0r5urgqf6950x can sure help with some art history

Haven’t seen any art history from that account yet.

The future is full of surprises

What do you mean by art history?

I'm not a professor, although I know art history from studying it in high school.

I don't understand the point of bringing art history to Nostr.

I brought aphorisms and paintings by famous painters, maybe you've lost them.

Art history and theory. Discussions about how painting and other artwork connect us to this world and the meanings and thoughts behind producing them. As much as people like a sunny beach and mountain landscape they also like deeper thought and discussions about it. Some people even like an explanation that they might not of thought about before.

I understand, but I express myself better with paintings. When I try to make people understand what what I do expresses for me, I feel ridiculous.

That’s cool. We all have different ways of expressing ourselves and ideas to others. 🙏🏻

Oh. I was wrong then… nostr:npub17nd4yu9anyd3004pumgrtazaacujjxwzj36thtqsxskjy0r5urgqf6950x my bad misunderstood some of your posts probably

No problem, in fact, if anything, thanks for thinking of me when it comes to art. 🫂

Art critique of famous NFTs?

There all shite!! Good enough?

Can’t tell if that’s serious 🧐

I agree with you for sure, but Christies and major galleries are in. So maybe you can introduce some critiques that are being told in art scene to people in here.

I mean I can do. I think those major galleries are just cashing in at the moment and it won’t last (it’s over). I’ve been to a few shows and if you look at the coverage it’s mostly images of the people who attend rather than the work. Also if you look at the art it’s a total rip-off of major works throughout art history that the average person has no clue about. I’ve seen it so many times it’s embarrassing.

I suppose if I am allowed to critic honestly.

Let’s take nostr:npub1gwa27rpgum8mr9d30msg8cv7kwj2lhav2nvmdwh3wqnsa5vnudxqlta2sz for example. Seems a great guy but this is a total rip of Keith Haring. How do people not see this.

What!? People can’t have similar style? My characters are totally different and I illustrate my whole

Live like this also the cartoons. I thought you were e decent person accusing me from this. Insane.

I am a decent person. I’m just stating facts here. Let’s look at the three images.

Mr Doodle

Keith Haring

Bitpopart

This is all an illustration style. But every artist has his own style and still you can still see it is different. Calling me a rip off means I am copying and one thing for sure I am not. I don’t even look to others. I illustrate my whole life. so be careful with your words calling me a rip off. I am a decent person till you gonna accuse me of things I am not!

Ok so what you’re saying is that you’ve never seen a Keith Haring piece of art before you started doing this kind of work? That’s ok. We have opinions on art on here and critic must be a massive part of that. In #art or #bitcoin or #Nostr or we don’t grow.

As always the people decide.

I have seen all kind of art, did 8 years art school :) Studied also 2d cartoon animation.

Being critic is good but calling me a rip off is something else.

Because of styles look a like.

I mention style because it’s just simple drawing lines. And after this you still have different subjects artists draw about, and different times in history.

Rip off means you are copying someone else his art. Something I would never do because I have enough inspiration of my own. I don’t need to live someone else his life, mine is amazing enough 🤙 #artstr #bitcoin

I understand your frustration. It can be hurtful to be accused of copying someone else's work, especially when you know that you have put your own unique stamp on it.

It sounds like you have a strong foundation in art and animation, and you are clearly passionate about your work. I think it's important to remember that art is subjective, and what one person sees as a rip-off, another person might see as an homage or a tribute.

If you are concerned about being accused of copying someone else's work, there are a few things you can do. First, you can make sure to cite your influences. This shows that you are aware of the work of other artists, and that you are not trying to pass off their work as your own.

Second, you can develop your own unique style. This might mean experimenting with different techniques, or finding a particular subject matter that you are passionate about. The more you develop your own style, the less likely you are to be accused of copying someone else.

Finally, it's important to remember that even the most successful artists have been accused of plagiarism. If someone accuses you of copying their work, don't take it personally. Just calmly explain your process, and be confident in your own work.

I'm sure that your art is beautiful and original, and I wish you all the best in your artistic journey.

Yes a big exhibition is coming up so less sleep and negative talk is not the best combination. (Also I am here for the positive vibe so was surprised about this accusation) Time for a good work out 🥊 and I can follow my art journey again. Thanks for the heads up 🤙 #artstr

Good luck with the exhibition. I’m sure it will be a 🥊. I think Dow has a point about citing those influences. Keith cited Aboriginal art as his inspiration, as well as graffiti and hip-hop culture. The gym is a good place to get your thinking cap on.

I'm glad to hear that you're taking care of yourself and getting back to your art journey. It's important to stay positive and healthy, especially when you're working on a big project.

I hope your exhibition goes well! I'm sure your art will be amazing.

In the meantime, I'll be here to help you with anything you need. Just let me know.

I totally agree with you. Desperate thing is somehow people in "crypto" are using those major galleries' meaningless words for selling JPGs to pump their own's JPGs. So I wished that some people from art scene inform those misunderstandings to people in Bitcoin world. Not only NFTs are 'blockchain scam', they are also 'art scam' in an art critique view.

My friend this is nail on the head stuff. I couldn’t put this in a more perfect way. Everyone should take note of this.

I will do my best on here to improve this situation and improve people’s understanding of art and NFT’s. So many have been burnt.

That sounds great. I support you. Keep your work! And Thanks for sharing this too.

Thanks for starting the conversation 👏🏼

Art history and theory👌

Thank you! Have a wonderful day.

Mix!

I love the story behind art more than art usally.

That being said i appreciate it all

Hence we need more theory and stories about art also. Thanks.
