Nick Cave is one of my favorite writers. His way of blending wisdom with compassion and poetry reminds me of that age before mass media, when people wrote each other letters.

I really liked his response re the King’s coronation. Where he seemingly reflected not only on the monarchy, calling it “the bizarre, the uncanny, the stupefyingly spectacular, the awe-inspiring”, but also on all our institutions, and the world itself.

A side note: last year, together with other guys I was holding him so he doesn’t fall from the stage 😀 And when he was singing The Ship Song I noticed that a girl next to me had the refrain tattooed on her forearm. Beautiful
