I tried nostr:npub1e85mms9s8ssm6vm6ztw0tdrr6j0a4l5gf2sjhw2scxpwnexmaxuqcev9em for the first time to promote my YouTube video.

On paper it looks good!

But the reality:

I got 7 clicks on the video

On average 3 min spent on the video

And only got two likes on the video

It seems like our of the +50 people who engaged with this post ~15% were kinda interested in the content, but not really.

+85% are here for the zaps

Could also be the case. But why than bother to post and interact? Just for the zaps I would say.

Have you considered uploading your videos to Nostr.build so that people can view them without switching to a different platform?

Never heard about Nostr.build! Sounds awesome! Will check it out! Thank you!

Before you start using it, make sure you understand video compression. You have to pre-compress files before uploading them. There are a bunch of methods that work, but you will need to do a bit of research.

Compression means limiting the size of the file? The 2,5 GB raw video is usually 350 MB after editing. Do I have to compress it even more?

Yes, 350 MB is enormous for internet streaming. Check out this thread.

Nobody goes on Nostr to watch YouTube.

Fair point I guess?
