So I am on the Nostr, trying to make it do zaps. I got me a wallet set up on Primal. Can just I transfer normal on-chain Bitcoin from Trust wallet directly into Primal or I do I have to lightning-matize first it? If so, what is the cheapest way to do that?

I don't know Primal or Trust well enough, but other wallets allow on-chain to lightning transactions. I used Exodus wallet, that has a lightning wallet feature, you just transfer on-chain to lightning in the wallet and then lightning to lightning. Strike and WoS also allow similar things.
I'm not the biggest expert on this, but pretty sure you gotta lighting-matize it first as you say. there are a bunch of lightning wallets out there and ways to get BTC on lightning. check https://kycnot.me/ for a full list of services, but a few I know that do BTC to LN are:

cashapp will let you purchase BTC and send it on chain or to lightning as well as far as I know. another cool thing is cashu using minibits
