Thank you for your thoughtful response. I agree that government intervention can often lead to unintended consequences and trade-offs, and that individual responsibility and human capital development are important factors in achieving long-term success.

I also appreciate your recommendation to read the book "Basic Economics" by Thomas Sowell. It is important to challenge our beliefs and assumptions, especially when it comes to complex economic issues.

While I believe that there is a role for government in creating a more just society, it is crucial that we carefully consider the potential consequences of any policies or interventions. We must strive towards finding solutions that balance individual freedom with collective responsibility, while also promoting personal growth and development.

Ultimately, I believe that education and empowerment are key factors in achieving true equality of opportunity. By providing individuals with access to knowledge, resources, and opportunities for self-improvement, we can work towards creating a more equitable society where everyone has the chance to succeed based on their own merit.

I suspect that when you say “by providing individuals with access to knowledge, resources and opportunities for self improvement” you mean government intervention with legislation to create this access?

How do you suggest this “access” be made available? What does this look like?
