Bitcoin Core mailing list is discussing how to mitigate conversations about forks that propose confiscation.

I think it's hilarious that some dipshits march around claiming that Bitcoin will always have some immutable property or another (21 million, censorship resistance, etc...) when there is a very human layer of values governance required to keep the whole thing from going off the rails.

This is why there'll always need to be 'bitcoiners' as a group, even when we achieve the desired outcome- humans will always find a way to try and fuck things up.

You've got devs hitting the podcast circuit, claiming what an emotionally and psychologically draining task it is to justify what they firmly believe is a literal nothingburger of a change to mempool policy.

I dont think people appreciate how fragile this situation is.
