I've been thinking a lot about this idea lately. And I want to elaborate a bit. So the type of scenario I am thinking of is like a sudden rapid devaluation of the dollar or maybe the mandatory implementation of a CBDC. Basically a situation where the choice really was Bitcoin or slavery and it was so glaringly obvious that a vast amount of Americans would be looking to get off of Zero.

Now I get it that some would choose the slavery option because it was easier, but I would expect that for quite a few, the need to get into #bitcoin would be somewhat urgent in the event of the scenarios described above.

How do we as bitcoiners make sure we are ready for a mass opt out of fiat and opt into Bitcoin scenario? For me I am trying to hone an "elevator" pitch that starts with a basic and simple introduction and ends with the set up of a non-custodial wallet in an hour or less.

As always, interested in thoughts and strategies from my fellow bitcoiners.

It seems like to me the dollar has already rapidly devauluated ,, while that has happened , those you say would choose slavery have allready made that choice , and have gotten raises and never missed a check since it’s rapid declination … I do not see these folks adopting anything different than what they think is reality . Sadly a lot of these older folks saw thier parents deal with a depression but they have not noticed the others around them living in it .

So let’s ignore those then, how do we quickly onboard those who want out? Like no time for an orange pill, we need to give an orange injection. What is a good strategy?

IMO, cash app/strike to WOS. Get in depth on the economics of it all later. Just, “here, do this. Your money is safe now.”

I think maybe there is another force that can drive this that we do not have to create or understand how it works , I think we just need to be patient , watch for the signs and help those that are reaching out the same way we are, or at least I am, . While the waiting happens , more and more creations come to life in this protocol … if I had discovered #nostr today as opposed to just back in march ,, I’d be blown away with all the tools and usefulness along with the overwhelming space that this crates to actually be loving like we were designed to be, IMHO.

For sure, not going to go by any script that's for sure. I try to put myself out to friends, family and my community as someone who knows bitcoin and can help onboard if/when needed. IMO I think we all need to put ourselves out there as much as possible and be ready to be helpful without judgement.

When it does, we'll need local communities with Uncle Jim Fedimints to help teach the people how to protect their purchasing power from money-printing-go-brrrrrr governments.
