Time to add some protein to our dry goods storage. Traeger smoking some local beef and pork. Then into the freeze dryer.

Stack steaks.

Looks good!

I've never freeze dried meat, what is the process when you want to eat it, and how long does it last freeze dried?

I have limited experience as well. I have done small quantities of:

chicken

Turkey

Pork

Beef

Taco meat

Venison

It has all come out great. It is difficult to eat dry, however it reconstitutes really well. Hard to tell the difference from when it went in.
