Checking out lands for sale, many plot of 10-20 acres seems fairly affordable for the next bull run. Problem is what do I do with the land?

What do you want to do? Will you live there?
Doubt it. I’m talking about dirt road in middle of nowhere. I do want to have a cattle or a horse. Even if I can go there everyday, if I don’t live there, it kinda worries me if I can’t see me horse 24/7. And this would be way down the road. I’m gonna learn how to take care of them first.
When we first got our horses, they stayed at a friends property hours away where no one lived full time. Every time there was a storm, we freaked out. Within six months, we bought some ground with a house. When we outgrew that, we moved to a larger property in rural Missouri.
We love living this way and try to become more self sufficient little by little.
That’s my dream. But in reality I have nothing and don’t even know how to ride a horse 🥲
The lands I’m looking to buy aren’t as livable. I looked into boarding a little bit too, but I’d rather have my own place.
There’s a ranch with instructors here, and I think I’m gonna start taking lessons. I really need to start learning.
We knew nothing when we started. Let me save you some trouble: study “natural horsemanship” techniques like Parelli and others teach. Knowing how your horse thinks and views the relationship will make everything more enjoyable and safer for both of you.
Also, if possible your first horse should be broke to ride, preferably by natural horsemanship techniques. Many of ours were rescues and some still are not broke to ride.
All warnings aside, knowing horses has been one of the most enjoyable things in our lives.
Something about horse just intrigues me.
A sect of my ancestors were famous horse breeder and dealer over 100 years ago. They were wealthy land owner till about my great great grandfather. By that time the family had wasted all their money on opium, all adult within family were addicted, left my great grandfather to work in coal mine by the age of 14. So it’s a personal dream for me to own land again, and know horses.
