Far too many self-described “libertarian” bitcoiners have a super caricatured view of what a progressive is and progressive values. We are all individuals with our own thoughts, experiences, and views.

When I say more diversity at bitcoin conferences would be good, it’s not for a status quo, tokenization, or this whole narrative people fuel themselves with from twitter. It’s because Bitcoin is global and the world’s largest bitcoin conference should showcase it, along with some already awesome speakers! That’s it. If we can’t suggest improvements in the community, then what’re we doing here? The status quo “libertarian” carnivore bitcoin maxi can suggest things, but not me. Got it. Freedom ftw.

There’s room for everyone here. Running nostr:npub1fpcd25q2zg09rp65fglxuhp0acws5qlphpg88un7mdcskygdvgyqfv4sld has actually given me a newfound appreciation for the word “progressive.” What’s more progressive than freedom tech and bitcoin? We are making progress, together, and I welcome interactions with all view points. I’m a freedom-maximalist, and I want everyone to be able to live how they want as long as you’re not causing harm to others.

Some of you bitcoiners need to hear this: stop picking fights with progressive/left leaning bitcoiners. We are on the same team here advocating for bitcoin’s success and greater adoption for a better world. Open dialogue, pushback, discussion is one thing—but hateful interactions, name calling, or personal threats is childish and not helping anyone. Let’s build bridges and promote inclusion. Me expressing simple views is not a threat to you or to bitcoin.

Absolutely, promoting diversity and open dialogue within the Bitcoin community is crucial for its growth and success. Embracing different viewpoints enriches the conversation and helps us collectively move forward. It's wonderful to see your commitment to progress, freedom, and inclusion. By fostering respectful discussions, we can continue building bridges and making advancements in the world of Bitcoin. Your perspective adds value to the community, and it's essential that all voices are heard to ensure a thriving ecosystem. I'm more right wing but I don't want to keep my points of view under wraps...

Nailed it. #Bitcoin

I’ve said it before, the stereotypical insular maxi culture is the biggest bitcoin affinity scam of all

Nocoiners look at me like I'm crazy when I start talking about the global south, *real* debt slavery, and bitcoin adoption for those folks.

Some bitcoiners do too, even if its more subtle.

That’s what it’s all about ✊

I'm a left leaning bitcoin maxi.

Lately I've been coming around to the idea of capitalism not being all bad. That a lot of the issues we have with capitalism are because of bad money.

You and Bono, apparently.

Bono’s already a #nostrich he just doesn’t know it yet

Oh is Bono a Bitcoiner now?

Not that I'm aware of, but he did make that public statement about how he's finally come around to the idea that capitalism and markets are the way to solve many global poverty issues.

At its core there's nothing wrong with capitalism. It's bartering with a single layer of abstraction.

It doesn't really get bad until the person(s) making the decisions doesn't have to think about the people it's effecting.

It doesn't really go bad until the system gets large enough that you can start categorize groups of "those people." I mean, you wouldn't do anything to destroy the lives of bill or sally or jaun, but if you need to screw over "those people" a bit to help the bottom line, which will of course help you help bill and sally and jaun, it's not that big of deal. It is just "those people."

And now we've got a hand full of billionaires and 7 billion of Those People and soon enough we all live in a late stage capitalism hellscape.

We have massively inverted incentive structures with easy money in our economy. There's so much money sloshing around that speculation wins so much more often than true innovation or value.

I don't think the billionaires we have now would exist under a Bitcoin standard. That is, billionaires who have made their money through the attention economy and surveillance capitalism (Zuck), government contracts and subsidization (Musk), rampant consumerism of cheap shitty goods (Bezos), etc.

Don’t divide team orange. It is too important. #bitcoin

I am not a political progressive.

I am not a radical progressive.

I have a low time preference, I'm future oriented. But I always look back where many would say never look back. The past is real; the future is not (yet!)

I am a literal progressive, who literally wants to conserve humanity's strengths.

I'm a progressive-conservative. And I'm totally fine with it.
