My neighbors tree, planted in the 70s.

I rake up the spiky husks & I get all the chestnuts I want. I give him vegetables throughout the summer as well

That’s awesome. I’m planting a few hundred chestnut trees next year. Hopefully someone will be harvesting them in 50 years too. Maybe it will be me if I’m lucky.

They’ll produce much sooner, I think if you’re lucky you can get some in about 12 years
