Good morning nostr, today we need to run a few errands, then i want to do some more trimming up of the trails, which i started yesterday. That job is never done.

So i've been thinking about buying a coldcard Q, trying to decide if its worth it since i already have an mk4. I know the the security features are the same, but i think i just like gadgets. I'll hold off and think on it some more. Yall have a great thursday, enjoy your coffee, and do your work with a happy heart. #coffeechain #homesteading #grownostr

Good morning.

Good morning 🌞

What do you think about the MK4?

Also how's Daisy doing?

Hi Annie, Daisy is doing ok, we've just been noticing some changes in her behavior. Not sure if there's such a thing in dogs, but its kinda like a mental decline? But she doesnt seem to be in pain or anything, so i guess she's just slowing down.

As far as my mk4, i love it. No issues with it so far. Some folks say its too complicated for newbies, but the advanced features are mostly hidden behind menu sections that you can explore when you're ready. The basic setup and use are pretty straightforward. There are still features on mine that i have not played with, it does have lots of features.

Good morning Maria, hope you have a great day ☕️

Gm Luke😊

GM Maria 🤠🤙 saved the picture and thinking of getting chickens in the future 🤔

I hope you take the plunge! I wish i had done it sooner, for many reasons.😊

A redundant MK4 that eventually gets cloned to your original and has a strong pin and passcode, that then gets placed in a tamper sealed package and kept in a secure self surveil-able location offsite is a good way to improve your physical and “ability to transact regardless of circumstance” security. Without introducing a new expensive device that requires a battery. That way you always have two devices that are capable of signing transactions on the same set of addresses if one craps out or is destroyed. But before you clone the new one take some time to set it up as a fresh cold card and practice restoring it a couple times before you commit funds to it. Then wipe it and clone it to your original if you choose to. The whole exercise will improve your security model and also provide you with an educational opportunity on wallet restoration. Especially if the cloned, tamper evident, passcode protected duplicate unit is placed off site with a heavily armed friend or family member with whom you have rehearsed and routinely reviewed low key duress words. Both units should be offsite, with both adding a travel/time delay, physical or administrative barrier to being able to sign transactions with a gun to your head at your residence.

I like the idea of a cloned device, need to look into that. Thanks!

It’s super easy in Cold Card settings. The anti-phishing words end up being different between the two, but if you set it up with the same pin it’s a nice redundancy

I like that, i think i might do that instead of a Q. Prolly wouldnt use the fancy features anyway.

I like the idea of being able to crush one cold card underfoot or throwing it onto a nearby roof or into the woods, and still being able to retrieve the clone elsewhere.

Yeah, makes sense. Also, whats your opinion on Seedsigner? I like the fact that its stateless, so if someone found it, there is literally nothing on there.

And don’t forget your ABC’s……always be carrying. And ABT’s….always be training.

Yep, i'm pretty good about that.

Good morning, Maria! Chickens are so amazing, huh?

I’ve been tempted about buying lots of wallets. At least it goes to a good cause. I always just tell myself my extras will be for my orange pills

Yeah, i like getting new devices and things, but usually i hold off after sleeping on it, and realizing i dont really need them.
