It’s pulling from your relays which all have a different count depending on when your profile was last updated.
Check nostr.band for the most accurate version of your follower count

Thanks, I've checked on nostr.band but the search kept failing. It's not that I'm overly concerned with follower count; it's more the annoyance of starting from zero each time I come back to my profile to check a comment etc. I feel compelled to wait and watch the count. It's a waste of moments.
I just checked nostr.band and it worked very quickly. 🙏
