And it does drop WAY more explicit, and way more frequent Xenoblade 1 and 2 references than 3 ever did. I dunno the reason for the comparative lack of explicit namedrops, part of it was people like Matthew, Glimmer and Nikol having idea idea who Fiora, Pyra and Mythra are, but part of it might also be Takahashi having some hangup about namedropping characters that have no actual role in the Future Redeemed story (beyond the Aegis cores showing up at the end), maybe he figured namedropping them would give the player unrealistic expectations about them actually showing up later.
