The Dow Jones gained over 100 points on Friday, with the NASDAQ and S&P 500 also rising. Communication services shares jumped by 0.6%, while utilities shares fell by 0.3%. The US economy added 303,000 nonfarm payrolls in March, surpassing expectations and causing the unemployment rate to slow from 3.9% to 3.8%. MediaCo Holding Inc. shares shot up 126% after Standard General L.P. reported a 95.2% stake in the company. GCT Semiconductor Holding, Inc. surged 67% after signing an MOU with Aramco. HUB Cyber Security Ltd. gained 69% after announcing $8 million in financing. Semantix, Inc. dropped 33% after announcing its voluntary delisting from the Nasdaq Global Market. HWH International Inc. was down 19% after a previous 46% jump. Biodesix, Inc. fell 13% after announcing the pricing of its underwritten offering of common stock and concurrent private placement. Oil and gold prices traded up, while silver and copper prices fell. European shares were lower, with the eurozone's STOXX 600, London's FTSE 100, Spain's IBEX 35 Index, the German DAX, French CAC 40, and Italy's FTSE MIB Index all declining. Retail sales in the eurozone fell by 0.5% month-over-month in February. Asian markets closed mixed, with Japan's Nikkei 225 falling, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index falling slightly, and India's S&P BSE Sensex rising slightly. The index of leading economic indicators in Japan rose in February, while the index of coincident economic indicators fell. The S&P Global Hong Kong SAR PMI climbed in March. Average hourly earnings in the US eased from 4.3% to 4.1%.
