I would bet the American left it slightly to the right of the European right.

Americans still call those on the left Communists but still agree with European conservatives, and European left still call those on the right Nazi’s whilst also fawning over Dems.

Then European Conservatives and US Dems can’t even acknowledge one another exist, as they are basically antiparticles and would annihilate in a paradox on contact.

It’s 90% tribalism, 10% ideology, 0% common sense.
