This zone is characterized by extreme minimum temperatures ranging from -40°C to -37.2°C (-40°F to -34.4°F), with a humid continental, near-subarctic climate featuring short, cool summers and cold, snowy winters. All my friends down south have been into their gardens for months but so far evening temperatures have only supported putting in the root crops.
