Germany is a lovely place. But the government feels like a kindergarden and the weight of responsibility from Second World War is still highly forced upon us today, and this is not nice.

Agree about the government, but I'm not a doomer.

What do you mean?

I don't think politics is broken, anymore. I think the AfD unbroke it and things are getting interesting.

And I think we'll experience the same inflation-unwind as everyone else, but I don't think German finances are broken. We have a strong gold, cash-money, and Bitcoin culture. We aren't addicted to credit and our retirement system is not very generous. That will make a big difference, as credit is unwound. We have less to unwind, per person.

Germany is the least-ugly large economy, IMO, even though we're doing some silly stuff right now.

Generally, I think the German-language world is a good place to be, right now. It's not an accident that Nostr and Bitcoin have such Germanic overrepresentation. Germans value privacy, freedom of speech, and sound money more than most people do, and we're unusually wary of totalitarianism and wars of choice.

Just look at powerful groups like #einundzwanzig , which arguably has more active members than some political parties.

I agree with you. We can’t complain too much. I often only see the stuffy side but Germanz can be really intellectual and they truly have good values. Grumpy but honest and kind:D

💜

Basically, I don’t see borders, origins or faith as something so important to discuss. Let humans be and let’s try to find a humane solution for everyone. And not being afraid of other cultures anymore.

And what else afd is doing I honestly don’t know. Or even if they’re still as racist as many say. But some things I’ve heard lead me to believe that.

Economy is only kinda-working on this planet so therefore, we’re probably on the better side - but innovation is still needed! And everytime I think about the problems we face as humanity, I end up thinking aböut hard money 🤔

Changes needs to happen let’s see what it looks like. Thanks for giving me new insights

We can keep the open border if we end the entire welfare state.

Not economically possible to have both.

Math.

I'm okay with that, and the welfare state will soon collapse anyway and then all of the moochers will leave willingly (including some German ones LOL), but most people who promote open borders pretend like this won't happen.

There should be a good amount of ways how to integrate people. But then we would be very grateful, we need them. And they should feel welcomed and supported, at least. Hope this will be better managed in the future so what you say won’t happen too bad!

We need the people who come here to invest in the prosperity of the country, and that is not everyone.

I also tend to assume integration is much more difficult than most Germans do, as I've actually done it.

No amount of assistance makes it easy. Only personal motivation leads to success.

The most difficult thing might be the language/communication - but you’re right.

There will always be people that will exploit such things and we need to find a way to make it less profitable to do ‚nothing‘ for your own and so others good.

They’re everywhere

Yeah, I know lots of Americans like that, too, but -- funnily enough -- they aren't allowed to move to Germany. 😂

It's not the language. The language is the easiest part, especially since so many Germans speak some English.

It's... everything. Everything is different.

YES

Woops I was confused with the world welfare state

Huh 🤔

Your industry which was the most important yhing in your economy, i think, has not access to cheap energy anymore. You buy the same russian gas but from India as an intermediate and of course much more expensive. That makes your industry incompetent due to high manufacturing cost. Recession is already there and at the moment there is no way out that can be seen in the foreseeable future. Where am i wrong?

You're wrong in thinking that much production hasn't already left Germany for the rest of the EU or India or whatnot.

And the recession is reducing our need for gas.

Yes i know that a big portion of production has moved. Still that was the backbone of your economy. Buying less gas in higher prices is a good reason for heaving recession

Yes, but my point is that we need less gas now because we produce less.

I think the recession will be good for us. It is ending the mass-immigration nightmare and forcing the government to choose how to spend funds.

Νot really. That's a vicious circle we, not only you, have entered. And don't expect the government to send immigrants away, they brought them for a reason. You, we, have to push for that.
