I suspect the bridge pubkeys aren't considered trusted.

Why not? They are all verified with Nip05 names

I had heard that the list of trusted pubkeys was limiited to a small number of specific domains (though I did not hear that from a nostr.band dev tbf)

The fediverse was well intentioned, but it’s really no different than the other platforms, in regard to free speech.

This is the only platform where you can say pretty much whatever the fuck you want and there’s nothing anyone can do about it. They can mute you, which is perfectly fine, but that has no effect on your status.
