An evangelical embracing a totalitarian emporer other than Christ is not truly evangelical.

Evangel = Good news. That good news of Christ's death and resurrection first caused Christians to reject the totalitarianism of Nero, and were killed for it.

They died declaring "Christos kurios" (Christ is king) in the face of those demanding they ascribe ultimate rulership to a dictator.

And there are many evangelical Christians like myself who will join nonChristians like yourself in the fight against tyranny.
