Venerable Daniel the Hermit, in his cave at Voronet, advised Prince Stephen the Great of Moldavia to continue fighting the Ottoman Empire. After Stephen's victory in 1475, Daniel instructed him to build the Voronet Monastery in thanksgiving. Daniel's wisdom and prayers were instrumental in Stephen's reign and defense of Christendom.
