It's interesting, I'm reading this book atm and have been curious on political reorientation post 80’s. I think there was a huge degradation of social capital as part of the cluster effect of all businesses going down, due to the collapse of rust belt cities, and rise of impoverished communities. When it comes to poorer communities, there is a bigger emphasis on survival, safety and stability rather than to thrive and over time, social conditioning becomes a generational habit and culture. I think this could be a very overlooked large groups of society and hopefully everyone gets a chance to overcome setbacks someday. Thanks for sharing, Ava.
