Once we move beyond the Bitcoin crowd: does Nostr become similar to Reddit in the future? The relays are similar to sub-reddits but there’s still room general conversation like Twitter? Thinking of brands, do they have their own relays: like the Premier League has a relay for that chat, etc.

I’m thinking so? It’s hard to tell because I think there’s a benefit to having control over what you’re hosting but you also don’t want to over centralize to where all the conversation happens in one place hosted by someone that’s incentivized to manipulate the speech.

Very hard balance. It’s also easy to see how echo chambers form. A noticeable change from random conversations of a month ago to now closeer to what (sometimes) Bitcoin Twitter was with the same folks having the same conversations (for context: I don’t think it’s fully an echo chamber but you can see how it can be).

Definitely. To some extent it’s probably better than being completely open but discover-ability needs to be at the forefront to prevent the chambers to be static. There needs to be some dynamism for idea sharing, learning, and just overall fresh engagement experiences.
