As a Floridian I felt like Governor DeSantis & the state legislature were the only one who had my back, protecting me from local tyranny, at one point he completely took the wind out of the sails of local tyrants, and it was pretty early on. We were back in business within 2 months, even in more liberal areas in the south, then there were areas that basically never had any lockdown at all.

Yes, he said people can get vaxxes if they want, but this was very early on. When the started talk of mandates he and the state legislature immediately banned vaccine passports statewide. They even told Norwegian Cruise Lines to get lost if they start asking for vaxx papers. His response wasn't perfect, no doubt, but far better than anyone else, most definitely far better than Trump who let it all happen.
