The economics of social media needs an uprooting. There's basically 4 stakeholders in a social network:
-The Platform itself
-Creators
-Followers
-Advertisers
On traditional social networks, Advertisers fund Platforms, on the backs of Creators and Followers (Facebook, LinkedIn, etc). Horrible model.👎
On other networks, Advertisers fund the Platform AND Creators on the backs of Followers (YouTube, TikTok, Tittler). This is better. But payouts are sometimes still puny on some networks (TT & X suck).🫱
To attract creators to #Nostr, we must unlock their earning potential. This is easy, since other networks suck at it. PS: Zaps aren't it.
But what if Advertisers not only funded Creators and Platforms but also YOU the following consumer too? As in, you got paid a fraction for every boosted post you read.💡
Paying people makes them a lot more willing to view boosted content. Which attracts creators AND followers to Nostr. 🚀
But it does bring in a spam issue too. Faking views to earn more. So a better WoT is needed than exists. I'm brainstorming. Will tinker on AI coders after I deal with some personal shit.
