One of these days we’ll be able to go to any website, click “clone” in an extension and it’ll just create a similar version of that site. Then with a few clicks you’ll update color palettes, images and graphics, fonts. Modify your content and hit publish and it’ll just work.

This is only possible because you as the user/client sync the entire site and host it locally. A clone is trivial as nothing is missing/hidden.
