What’s the future of education?

Will universities be a thing of the past?

I highly doubt my generation are going to encourage our kids to go to college like our parents did.

We all know most degrees are unnecessary for 90% of jobs today. But the only reason employers asked for a degree is it’s a signal a person isn’t completely stupid lol.

Will our kids be tutored by AI LLms like chatgpt and online courses?

Most universities put all their lectures online anyways.

University such a scam.

At least on a BTC standard the prices will signal what jobs are actually valuable in society and which ones are fake fiat jobs that only exist because of the usd money printer.

I have no idea what the future of higher education is. I do know that it’s our job to not outsource our children’s education to people who don’t have their best interest in mind. It’s a complete 180 from what our parents and grandparents understood about schooling.

I dropped out of university and most people I know criticized and looked down on me. And because of this, I almost never held a job.

Today, I make much more than every single one of them.

When confronting them about it, they tell me it's not only about the money, it's also about education. That's when I reply that I'm fluent in four different languages.

It sees drop outs always get ahead in the end.

Seems like drop outs have good knowledge base, life experience and as well as good people skills to do well in their career.

People who see through the BS seem to much better than those who follow the rules.

I already made the decision to not take my kid to school. Modes of educating will change with the times

It'll go the way it has in the past. Apprenticeship, certs, or trial periods to prove skilz and work experience/references to prove you're not a hot mess and can actually show up for work.

The real reason they expect degrees is that it signals 1) that you're in debt up to your eyeballs and really need the job, 2) that you tolerate hazing and busywork well. Also it allows them to easily filter out applications.
