Will night be a talented dev, but he’s an ignorant twat.

He thought the early momentum would carry Damus in perpetuity. Literal fiat thinking that doesn’t apply here and he’s gonna find out hard when his Purple subs don’t renew because they’ve moved on to clients who actually take feedback and communicate with their userbase, so he’ll run out of runway for his new thing that no-one wants anyway.

Very little interest in Notedeck from what I’ve seen. No doubt he’d use the Henry Ford quote about faster horses but Will ain’t Henry Ford and we’ve already got better cars and don’t need a 6-wheeler.

if I listened to you we would never have an android client and would forever be under the boot of apple and their restrictions.

the decision for notedeck was to be free and build a client in a more modern way that would better support the outbox model.

it was a team decision, so you calling me ignorant is calling everyone on the damus team ignorant. nice!

good thing I don't listen to random assholes on the internet who don't have any clue.

Yeah “if you listened to me” the result wouldn’t be a new client for a new OS; it would have been a better client on the same OS.

Your existing users weren’t complaining that Damus wasn’t available on Android - they were on iOS already. They wanted a better version of Damus on IOS..

“it was a team decision, so you calling me ignorant is calling everyone on the damus team ignorant. nice!”

Lol. Did they make this call or did you in charge of development for the project make it?

What’s that? It was you who made this decision?..

Well then I stand by you what I said - you are an ignorant twat. And I feel sorry for the Damus team whose leader would try to hide behind them like that.

You can say I have no clue, but here’s a clue - your project is already dead.

You didn’t have your existing users support to build this nonsense. Your existing paying users wanted a better Damus on iOS, YOU decided to build a new client for a new audience whilst neglecting your existing, and you’re going to end up with neither.

Good thing you don’t listen to random arseholes on the internet who have spent 10 years monetising new products for Unicorn startups who knows how to launch new software products to be additive rather than cannabilise the existing!

Otherwise you might have learned before making these mistakes!

Instead now you just get to own the death of your project alone; you absolute wanker.
