I've been thinking about that. I think he got a point in a deep sence. Saying things using your real name forces you to do hard things to be able to stand your ground, like having a redundant income stream, think carefully about waht you say and articulate it properly, etc...
There is the case for people that can't afford to do that in a real sense, like life or death situation, the line is diffuse here.
Also is understandable from a perspective of a public figure that is exposed to trolls 24/7/365.

The good part is that as you mention, algorithms are something that you don't need toworry about here. Also there is the posibility to have relays that are KYC only or pay-to-interact (post, reply, etc) wich will keep most of the spam at bay. Free market and voluntary choice will tell if that is something desirable or not🤔🧉
