Currently deep in thought and writing some notes for my book, I’ve been thinking about consciousness and what it even is, I find it pretty much impossible to conceive the full scope of consciousness, and I’m sure everyone living on planet earth would agree with that, but I do however have a pretty convincing proposition to why collective consciousness is needed and why we should embrace it. What are your thoughts on this? 😎🤙#spreadlove

"evolutionary superiority" is more than a bit hubristic. a snail or even a slug, an ant, a cat, a lion, a gorilla or a flea is as perfectly evolved as homo sapiens; arguably moreso, if you compare existent timelines.
the problem arises at the point of separation; dualism, Kant or otherwise, with an unhealthy focus on reductionist materialism, when human beings separate themselves from Nature and forget the innately crucial frequencies of soul and spirit.
consciousness is born of the individual spirit, wherein the realm of thought (thinking) is enabled, activated, impelled; i.e. the ability to willingly cultivate (even curate) cognition, that is, percepts are identified and transformed into concepts, which then get distilled into whatever language one speaks/thinks in, each with its own limitations ("suspended in language... our intellectual description of nature is always culturally derived (Pirsig, 'Lila', 1991).
collective consciousness can be "seen" in something as simple and elegant as a murmuration of starlings, yet it still is, in fact, only ever individuals birds acting according to incentives born of a clearly defined ruleset.
if "a collective consciousness is needed", your own words, by who/what/how is such a need instantiated? by voluntary or coercive means?
more thought/thinking required. 🌀🫡
Hence why I called it a proposition, I get what your saying with the evolutionary superiority comment, but it’s pretty clear and distinct that we have evolved differently to those around us, and it’s my assumption that perhaps it’s to serve as a propose to nature, that’s where that hubris comment comes in to question, because it’s my belief the signals are there for all to see once you delve inward and look around you, nature is present, nature is everywhere. You are nature . That’s not dualistic thinking, and the crisis we face in the world is that we tend to lie heavily on this dualistic thinking, humans need purpose. I feel like humanity is trying to find that pathway of purpose, we want to know why and what it is, instead of this is it. To be alive. To be whole and one.
The indicators towards a misalignment of collective consciousness is there for all to see, escalating conflicts, confusion, death and destruction, these are not driven by conscious behaviours of oneness, but the latter, the unconscious society which hasn’t found its purpose.
The evolutionary superiority comment is pretty much me trying to express a hidden question to the reader, which then leads you to realise that it isn’t we’re superior to the animal kingdom, we are the animal kingdom.
Nature is superior.
Maybe I should have worded it better, thanks for your comment.😎😂🤙

Nice, but for me #Bitcoin being the most intellectual stimulating thing doesn’t cut it, it’s the notion of God.
After all the ground foundation of dominance hierarchy remains ever present in humans, the protocol is a gigantic step towards rearranging our value structure and power dynamics, and as you mentioned can move us towards self-actualisation, but you then turn self-actualisation into a substructure beneath something that even transcends that, morality is at the pinnacle of self-actualisation, so what is the highest good? In his later life Maslow began exploring this idea.
Self-transcendence involves a further level of development that includes a focus on spiritual, altruistic, or community-oriented fulfillment, where an individual seeks to connect with something beyond the self. I’m not sure just a protocol can do that, that’s something deeply embedded within us.
Have a good day brotha.😎🤙
being the most intellectual thing is just a jump off for those curious enough to engage. it's the beginning.
Bitcoin is a choose your own adventure. Project what ever you want onto it, but at it's root it's simply sound money; the hardest we've ever known.
the increase in optionality and bandwidth it provides over time (thanks to NGU tech) impels those curious enough to be inspired... (figuratively "inspire, excite, inflame," from in- "in" (from PIE root *en "in") + spirare "to breathe" (see spirit).. and become enthusiastic... (from Late Latin enthusiasmus, from Greek enthousiasmos "divine inspiration, enthusiasm," from enthousiazein "be inspired or possessed by a god (within))...
Anthroposophy provides a nice framework for thinking about the interconnectionns between such things, i.e. body, mind, spirit.
Come on the pod sometime to discuss more, and you can tell us the tale of how you discovered Bitcoin. Open invite 🌀🫡🔶👀
I’ll hit you up it the DM tomorrow brotha, would love to😎🤙great talking.
I reject the premise: the "question" isn't begged at all. I have never once felt the need to ask what is our "purpose".
Or rather, the "purpose" of our species is exactly the same as the "purpose" of any other form of matter generalçy speaking, and of living organisms if you want to be more specific. There is no special "purpose" beyond the inevitable unfolding of the laws of physics, including those that apply to the self-replicating chemical compounds that constitute "life".
pretty postmodern type viewpoint if you ask me, it’s the exact same Darwinian and scientific crap that breeds nihilism, I didn’t at any point allude that other forms of matter don’t have purpose, it’s my belief there is purpose in everything we do, not solely driven and governed by the laws of psychics. It may seem to surprise you but the foundation of physics is literally grounded by 1 miracle. We’re supposed to believe that BANG. = PHYSICS.
If we don’t have to feel the need to ask what our purpose is, why search? 😎
You're not supposed to "believe" anything. You can learn physics from zero and follow the full reasoning to the several competing theories that try to explain the functioning of the universe. What you're supposed to do with them is question them, test them and try to invalidate them and come up with a more precise theory. The exact opposite of what you're saying. Don't trust, verify.
Forgot to add - I also reject completely your claim that science leads to nihilism. If anything, it looks like people who feel a need for some mysterious, supernatural (?) "purpose" are easy prey for nihilism. That's why such people must have unquestioned belief in unproven and unprovable things. I'm perfectly fine with questions and enjoying the most probable explanation: that there is no "purpose" to the universe, that the universe simply is, and that How does it work?" is a valid, productive question that leads to our betterment, unlike "To what purpose?", which only leads to unprovable, unproductive false answers.
