Many people (myself included) see TG as just Social Media in a group chat format.

There's no reasonable expectation of privacy there since by definition, everything is expected to be in the public domain.

You can also sign up using sms4sats and use a FOSS client with tor oroxy/ orbot support.

Same, i refused to use it for a long time, but constantly had people talking about Telegram groups

So in the end reluctantly I installed it...

On my anyway compromised User (on #grapheneOS) but still... Really confused about why they all use it so much and torn if I shouldn't just through it out again

What about Signal and Three a though?! By being open source I believe theiy should better?!
