How young are we talking? I do think there is an appropriate age for this kind of drug it takes a certain amount of maturity. This is coming from someone that really benefited from shrooms and I grew up in a house where there was wine on every dinner table

I'm also not talking of giving a heroic dose.

I'm speaking of 0.05g or maybe even lower at first.

Not enough to feel it strongly or at all even.

If we were talking of my child I would definitely do it. When the dosage are that low the effects are not "psychedelic". They're more medicinal.

Honestly that’s your call as a parent. It is completely non-toxic but I don’t think that low of a dose will give the child any revelations. Some kids are just sad bc of number of things. Could be bullying at school, etc

Mushroom don't need clear revelation to be effective has medicine. A lot of people find benefits with microdoses. They work on you even if you don't feel them.

I understand that children can be sad because of a number of things.. just like adults. But this drug could still help them go through it by first promoting love for themselves.

I really do appreciate your take even if I'm pushing on it. Ty. 🙏

My only concern with this is how much longer the brain still has to develop. It’s probably not known how it could affect a very young developing brain.

I get it.

But I have absolutely no reason to believe they could affect it in a wrong way. (At low dose, my opinion would be different at high dose)

Why would it affect the development in a wrong way when we knows it helps adults to love more?

But it's not wrong. We don't know. And we'll never know of we never try. But then I'm advocating experimentation on children... does that make me a bad person? What if it saves a child from suicide?

All around not an easy question 😅 but I lean on giving it...

If someone uses weed regularly at too young an age it can mess up their brain because it’s still developing and fragile, even though weed in adults is pretty much harmless, so it’s definitely possible the same can be true for mushrooms

But mushroom are not simply harmless to adults. They are beneficial. There's no one telling you how their mental health got better by smoking a fat joint every week while it is true for mushroom users.

We're also speaking of "getting high" regularly on weed while only taking a microdose of mushroom once a week for a few week that is barely noticeable.

(I'm not trying to "debate" you on this. Really just trying to have a conversation. I appreciate your input.)

Yeah, I guess that’s fair, it’s hard to use marijuana and not feel anything while still benefitting from it. But just from POV I’d probably wait yntil they were like 15 or 16.

have you tried getting them into sports? let them try all kinds of super fun sports, especially cardio heavy ones.

or musical instruments.

Not my kid, but she did try a few activities like soccer and dance. (I don't have a list rn but her parents did try a few ones)

But yeah sure, if she was to find an activity that passionate her and gave her self esteem it would probably help A LOT. But using the medicine first could also help her a lot to reduce shyness, give self esteem so it becomes easier to try activities and find joy in them while getting out of her anxious brain.

You're not wrong, at all. it's just that we could say the same thing about an adult doing shrooms for mental health. "You should find an activity/a passion instead."

yeah. totally get it. extremely difficult (& sad) problem it seems to have very young people already depressed or what have you…. since it’s not your kid, i’ll also say that the kid’s problems are probably highly due to some family dynamics going on -or- they’re being bullied at school. SO SAD! 😭😭

There's definitely a family dynamics going on.

It's not that the parents are mean are do not love but I feel a lot of stress in the household 🫤 it also dosen't look easy at school. Confidence issues.

I really do think some mushroom, that are Nothing more than a natural medicine (imo), could help her build some self love and confidence to then attack the world more strongly but.. I will never convince my sister that it's a good idea for her kid.

And I get it. I can't really call anyone stupid for not giving psilocybin to a child even tho I think it's not necessarily a bad idea.

ive never done shrooms, but im hearing that micro dosing really works (in adults), so it might not be a stretch to give to kids(???). but at the same time, like what’s been said here about weed, & which i agree with, the brain still develops through one’s twenties & even more so as a kid. *IF* i had a kid, i’d probably try my hardest to resist using any brain drugs…except for natural exercise (whether it’s cardio or more intellectual like with math or music). but i don’t have a kid, so i’m kinda just talking out of turn…but i’ve always been a bit of a major health nut. 🤗🙏

but i also just strongly believe from personal experience that my sports & fitness background that started from childhood has done more for me than anything else for mental health and resiliency (both mental & physical). 🫡 okay, that is all. 🙏
