Terrorist activities are known to be higher in places with bride prices. The problem is when the older more powerful men can buy brides and young men are locked out of the system and someone offers brides as a reward for joining. I heard about a few cases of this at university. I guess it kinda checks out that the same could happen in any nation.

Its interesting, the distribution of society with bride prices vs those with dowries.
Dowries are found in highly-productive highly-monopolised ecosystems, where capital is overwhelmingly land ownership, and proximity to political power is the most salient guide to a man's ability to support a family. Few men control much, so families compete to pay the few powerful men to marry their daughters.
Bride prices are found in desolate, usually pastoralist settings, where control of land is fluid, capital mobile and usually hoofed, and a man's willingness to labour and to defend his limited capital the best guide to his ability to support a family. Most unmarried men can do that, so they compete to pay families for the right to marry their daughters.
The latter are also the same environments in which, currently, centralised international institutions are increasing the intensity of their interactions with decentralised traditional societies. Usually in ways that were never profitable historically, and that the locals don't like... hence terrorism.
