Definitely not alby, for me. I personally use nos2x and really enjoy it. I don't know if it's the best for a beginner, but it's a solid tool.
I use it as well its always worked great for me
I've been using nos2x. It's not pretty or intuitive but it works.
Same its my preferred choice
Just tried out flamingo and it works well too. Much cleaner UI.

Mobile or bust. Set them up with Amber. I would not recommend a beginner get involved with applications that don't have nsecbunker support.

And I would specifically suggest they sign in to desktop applications with Amber.
They can use Amber to sign in to both mobile and desktop applications. To my knowledge there's not a browser extension that can do the same and it would be two cumbersome anyways.

✅ Less attack surface with only 1 app.
✅ Simple profile, app & permission management.
Starting a beginner off any other way is setting them up for failure. Imagine putting effort into a npub just to have your key compromised in 10 years after gaining 1 million followers.

But you'd be surprised by the amount of folks that refuse to put anything on their mobile device because its a work phone. These people demand desktop-only apps/webapps/extensions/etc.
