I feel you. A year ago my partner and I finally decided to leave UK and go somewhere sustainable, cost effective and less propaganda. I used to think that gov't don't affect my livelihood nor my lifestyle. This is the naive younger side of me. I'd say if you can afford to move then I'd recommend tropical countries which is cost effective for you. There are so many of them. Eg. Phils, Thailand, or Eastern Europe, the sunny side of Europe. However, wherever you go there is always a pros and cons. It all depends which one you can tolerate. If you can tolerate a less developed country from economic growth but more laid back government vs developed, more controlled society then those options may work for you Whatever you do, the only way to know is to try them.
