With nostr I can create keys for various communities and various identities. The beautiful thing is that I can put in various amounts of work into those communities or those identities based on my preference. Then that community can also have a self-regulated amount of proof of work required for certain interactions with the community. The trust level is up to the individuals.
Think we’ll see the micropayments that Saylor has spoken about become another layer to PoW.
Incentives drive behaviour and if you’ve got money on the table you’re far more likely to uphold community standards if failing to do so carries a financial penalty.
This ought to inversely reduce moderation requirements and also disincentivise the Reddit jannie types who get far too caught up in policing language - boot too many people off your relay/client then that money will flow somewhere else for the community to reform in less censorious conditions.
