What does Kilim mean ? In Lithuanian β€œkilimas” mean rug/carpet πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ πŸ˜…

Kilim refers to a type of flat-woven textile or rug, traditionally produced in various regions including the Balkans, Turkey, North Africa, the Caucasus, Iran, Afghanistan, and Central Asia. Unlike pile rugs, which have a soft, raised surface made from loops of yarn, kilims are made by interweaving the warp and weft strands, resulting in a flat surface with no pile.

I can’t find origins of the Lithuanian word online, but I would guess it have a common ancestor in Sanskrit
