Summer campfire is psychopathic unless it’s below 69F

Where I live if you're up in the mountains it dips into the 50s at night in the summer so a small campfire is perfect.
I’ve stayed up there in Western MT and you are right. Where I’m from summertime means a low of 75.
We still do it but man is it evil hot.
The river valley I live down in is always about 10 degrees warmer than the surrounding region so it's around 100 all summer long. I love going up to the mountains to camp because it feels so cool by comparison. This summer though I've been working so much that I haven't been camping at all and only went fishing once and didn't even catch anything.
I miss the fishing out there.
Got one trip in this summer in Northern MI. Caught a few browns and rainbows.
I went up to Dworshak reservoir one weekend and tried to catch some bass but no luck. Been working 6 days a week so I haven't been out much this year.
