Are you using alby for NWC?
yes, i am using alby for nwc with amethyst
it is frustrating because my set up has been working just fine. i haven't changed anything. all i have done is update amethyst and gos. zaps just stopped working on amethyst last week with orbot/tor engaged

thank you. i just reached out to Vitor. i think it's the amethyst orbot connection. it's always worked great for me so i didn't troubleshoot it until this morning. i disconnected orbot in amethyst and my zaps started working again with and without vpn. when i use the orbot connection in amethyst, zaps stop working (in amethyst)
If it's amethyst/orbot how is it I can use NWC to zap just fine?

thx. i agree. you're right, it shouldn't be a problem, but unfortunately alby has bowed out saying they "can't help in this particular case" because "lightning network is tricky with Tor" and because, cloudflare. and yes, everything else works. it is an alby relay issue with Tor because their services are protected by cloudflare
We have Tor on the relay open as much as possible, there is no specific blocking.
But there is spam and DDoS coming from Tor on the relay and certain IPs and datacenter might get blocked due to that. I assume if you get one of those nodes then there might be a problem.
Opening every restrictions on the firewalls is not possible because then attacks will make it hard to use for everybody.
Does somebody else currently see this issue? because it works for my tests.

when you say it works on primal. Is that also through Tor or clearnet?
i have not tested on desktop. i am referencing nwc connection to amethyst through #orbot / #tor

okay. thx anyway. if you happen to run across one, i would be very interested in your feedback. alby support was like, sorry can't help with that, because "sometimes cloudflare" but we'll keep it in mind. i'm sure you know it's kind of a big deal to be able to connect to amethyst through alby/tor and be able to one-tap zap (which i have also been able to do since this feature was released in amethyst many months ago...until last week 🤷🏼♀️) 🫂💜

I still would want to get it working for you (and also learn what’s the cause… there are many moving parts and Tor is hard :/ so any input is appreciated.
If you say it worked and now it doesn’t it’s also strange because nothing should have changed on the networking/firewall level there.
i agree. i have no problems with orbot and other apps. and when i disconnect orbot in amethyst, alby one tap zaps work again
