Well yea that's the nature of the uniparty (s)election system. Nobody gets there without the blessing of the power brokers.
Anyone who wants to actually help affect change needs to focus their time and energy locally. DC cannot and will not ever do anything for the benefit of anyone or anything but DC and the donor class.
