I reconfigured my node to allow a 1K MB mempool so I can see how many of the pending transactions are inscriptions. I suspect a lot of the 1-4 sat/vB are very stale inscriptions that first got sent around a month ago.

It’s taking forever for my mempool to refill, but at about 10% of the total mempool transactions on mempool.space, 80% of those transactions in my new mempool are inscriptions.

I suspect when we finally do clear the pool, there will be a huge number of new inscriptions and then things will be much quieter in inscription land going forward.
