its horrible. you take away control? no thanks. used to be the best app, web or mobile, imo. this ruined it

You can add relays to the proxy relay list in your relay settings if you want to just read from them. But fixed lists are terrible. People were always missing shit. This is way better.

Wouldn’t be better to have choice to turn off/on that outbox mode?

Nostur does have some similar think I’m using. But I can see the scenario where users want to turn it off.

It's not really the same thing. There is no point in deactivating outbox. You can add proxy relays, but those relays need to do the outbox for you. Otherwise you will be missing lots of posts.
