Growing up we became the clearinghouse for family books, everyone would just dump them off. Favorite of mine were the old encyclopedias, could always get a grab bag of info that way. Every kid in our pod took to reading too, I think the slowest of my siblings was reading pretty mature stuff at 7 yo just because it was was we did
