Not sure if opinions can be correct but here's a hot take. Lightning is inherently too complicated for the average person to self custody and thus an inherently centralizing force for liquidity on lightning network. It might not be a huge issue but if we want fast and cheap micropayments for the masses that is easy to self custody, lightning isn't it. It requires that you run a node to self custody. Even with lsps and the great work Zeus and Mutiny are doing, it still presents a barrier to entry that is too large a gap for a normal person to deal with when wanting to just make a payment with an app. Idk if ark can offer a better solution, and I'm not worried about the future of fast and cheap payment with Bitcoin. Life uh... Finds a way. I just don't think the whole world or even a significant portion of it will run on lightning.
