there is no reason to put solar panels on your roof - they should be put somewhere in an open field and power delivered to you through the grid.

as for storing power - it's basically impossible - you just have to move to a climate where power demand coincides with solar generation - that is to say somewhere warm and sunny where the main use of power is to run air conditioning ( which is most needed on sunny days ).

And when all those panels lose efficiency what do we do with them? Buy more from China that used coal to produce them?

oh no after 25 years of use you may have to put in some effort into recycling them ...
