Critical thinking is the ONLY important thing. The only "exception" to this rule is empathy. But empathy anyway allows you to perform better critical thinking.

Religion is absolutely fine but is counterproductive strictly when it interferes with our clouds critical thinking. It really is that simple.

Religion is appropriate (if desired) for guiding morals.

Morals are orthogonal to critical thinking. Both are valuable but largely do not interact.
